thealgoguide is an interactive art project that explores the societal and ethical implications of biased algorithms. 2017 the EU-Parliament explored the suggestion on creating an e-persona status for autonomous algorithms in the cleverest robotics, to fill liability gaps that accompanied the increased usage of algorithms. Through a custom-built chatbot, we invite you to engage with questions asked by it, evolving around the fictional introduction of algorithms into a human society. The session imitates a first encounter in form of a conversation between a human and an algorithm that is understood to become part of society. The chatbot’s design incorporates algorithmic bias, offering a critical lens on how such systems can perpetuate human prejudices and influence societal structures. By interacting with the chatbot, you contribute to a growing archive of responses that reflect diverse perspectives on these issues. The collected insights will be used for further artistic exploration and public discussion, aiming to raise awareness and inspire dialogue about the impact of artificial intelligence on our everyday lives.
